About Arkon

Built by listening to the people doing the work.

Arkon is built through direct conversations with contractors and independent operators who manage real projects, crews, documents, payments, and customers every day.

Founding story

It started with the same pattern, over and over.

Arkon started after the same conversation happened over and over: contractors running solid businesses, buried in texts, spreadsheets, PDFs, and receipts. The work was going fine. The paperwork behind it wasn't.

Every jump between an inbox, a spreadsheet, a text thread, and an accounting tool cost time a busy contractor doesn't have. So the team builds around how contractors already work — shaped by real calls, real job sites, and real feedback, not assumptions.

Mission

More time building. Less time managing.

The admin side of the job shouldn't take a software degree. Arkon's built to make it disappear, not add another system to learn.

Contractor-first

Product decisions begin with how contractors actually work.

Simple by design

The platform should reduce steps, not create new ones.

Built through feedback

Real conversations with contractors shape what we build next.

Why this matters

One of the contractors we talk to runs a real business — five active jobs, a business that clears $40-45K in a good month — and he's still buried in the overhead behind it. It took weeks just to get 30 minutes on his calendar, because his time is that scarce. He's not behind a desk. He's on a job site. Every hour he spends sorting receipts is an hour he's not spending running the business, or getting home for dinner. That's the gap Arkon is built to close.

The team

Four founders, on the phone with contractors every week.

Pradyum Balaji

Pradyum Balaji

Co-Founder, Engineering & Product

University of Maryland, College Park — Computer Science + General Business

Pradyum built Arkon's core systems — the engine tying contractor workflows, the CRM, and the platform together — and helps drive the business and go-to-market strategy.

Pradyum built the foundational architecture behind Arkon — the systems tying contractor work processes together with the CRM and development work the rest of the product runs on. He's also one of the principal voices on Arkon's business and go-to-market strategy, and leads outreach for the Maryland/DMV region. Before Arkon, he worked at Dropthought in Santa Clara and Leidos in Virginia, where he did mission-critical engineering work. Arkon is his second company. He studied Computer Science and General Business at the University of Maryland, College Park, and is part of UMD's Startup Shell network.
Kunal Singh

Kunal Singh

Co-Founder, Engineering & Product

University of Wisconsin–Madison — Computer Science + Data Science

Kunal leads UI/UX and product at Arkon — he built the Arkon chatbot — and works directly with contractors to keep the product fast and field-ready.

Kunal focuses on UI/UX, interface architecture, and product development at Arkon, including engineering the Arkon chatbot. Where Pradyum's work centers on backend systems and app logic, Kunal drives the interface and experience layer. He works directly with contractors, alongside Pradyum, to understand real problems on the ground. He's also a repeat founder, having co-founded another software company with Pradyum. His background includes an internship at Genfare, building the app "Ace The App," and work at Alkye and EduSense. He studied Computer Science and Data Science at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Eugene Chow

Eugene Chow

Co-Founder, Sales & Contractor Relationships

De Anza College — Business + Linguistics

Eugene leads contractor relationships and sales at Arkon — and he's done the job himself. He's worked inside a contractor's business, doing the exact admin work Arkon now automates.

Eugene leads sales, contractor relationships, and California outreach at Arkon. Before Arkon, he worked directly for a contractor, handling the same paperwork and spreadsheet work Arkon is built to take off a contractor's plate. He also interned as an Accounting Intern at RapidStream, a semiconductor firm, using Gusto day-to-day. He builds direct relationships with contractors to understand where the breakdowns really happen, and brings that feedback straight into the product. He studies Business and Linguistics at De Anza College.
Cameron Maszy

Cameron Maszy

Co-Founder, Marketing & Customer Development

University of North Florida — Business Intelligence + Marketing

Cameron leads marketing and customer development at Arkon — cold calls, personal contacts, and real conversations, turned into product and messaging direction.

Cameron leads marketing, customer development, and sales outreach at Arkon, and heads outreach in Florida. He talks to contractors directly — cold calls, warm intros, personal contacts, interviews, events — to understand how they run jobs, crews, payments, and communication. He brings those conversations back to the team to help shape product direction and customer messaging. He studies Business Intelligence and Marketing at the University of North Florida.

Build the future of contractor admin with us.

We are looking for contractors and independent professionals who are willing to test early workflows, share honest feedback, and help shape a platform built around the way they actually work.
